Sheltair has been recognized by its customers of the business aviation industry with the highest-rankings in the 2022 Aviation International News (AIN) FBO Survey, an endorsement to the company’s commitment to unparalleled service and safety practices. The family-owned network saw its Tampa location tie for the No. 1 spot, while also ranking an additional eight FBOs within the top 20% — the most of any FBO network nationwide for the fourth consecutive year.
The AIN FBO Survey rankings are a result of the input provided by general aviation customers on five different categories: facilities, passenger amenities, pilot amenities, line service and customer service representatives. The scores from all five categories are averaged after February of every year to reach the FBO’s final scores. Through this process, Sheltair ranked an outstanding four FBOs within the top 5%, one FBO in the top 10%, and an additional four inside the top 20% — an exciting result even for a company that is used to award-winning outcomes.
“For nearly 60 years, the core values in which my father founded Sheltair have empowered us to embrace excellence and achieve a superior guest experience on behalf of our customers,” said Lisa Holland, president of Sheltair. “We are honored to have received these accolades and are grateful to all of our customers who participated in the AIN FBO Survey. These results attest to our safety and service driven company culture striving daily to deliver the nation’s finest FBO services."
Represented in the top 20% were Sheltair Daytona Beach (DAB), Sheltair Savannah (SAV), Sheltair Pompano Beach (PMP) and Sheltair Clearwater (PIE); Sheltair Orlando (ORL) also achieved a high ranked placement inside the survey’s top 10%. The family-owned network claimed a record-breaking four spots in the survey’s top 5%, earned by Northeast Florida gateway location Sheltair Jacksonville (JAX), flagship FBO Sheltair Fort Lauderdale (FLL), and 2020 AIN Top Flight Award winner Sheltair Denver (BJC). Most notably, Sheltair Tampa (TPA), ranked number one for the third time in five years while also marking its seventh consecutive time in the nation’s top 5%.
Sheltair also had 11 team members recognized by its customers in the Above & Beyond category, more than any other company: Ashley Rainer (BJC), Celine Cannizzaro (FOK), Gregory Chomko (PIE), Jasmine Gonzalez (DAB), Johanna Echeto (ORL), Kaysha Strong (JAX), Kyann Niblett (JAX), Lita Tanner (FLL), Marlena Taylor (SAV), Michelle Nickerson (TPA), and Yascara Sanchez (LAL).
“We have a comprehensive and unified view of our guest’s experience, which drives improved team collaboration internally and allows us to deliver on our promise to serve with kindness,” stated Delette Legrand, Sheltair’s director of customer service. “Extending service to others is not a strategy but a lifestyle at Sheltair; therefore, we anticipate our guest’s needs and deliver above and beyond expectations.”
In addition, AIN further recognized the Sheltair network. In Florida, Sheltair Panama City Beach (ECP) scored a 4.56 to lead all FBOsin Northwest Florida, Sheltair Pompano (PMP) was designated the No. 1 FBO in Boca Raton/Pompano Beach, and Sheltair Tampa (TPA), St. Petersburg (SPG), and Clearwater (PIE) were ranked a consecutive top three in the Tampa Bay. Sheltair Orlando (ORL) also led as No. 1 in its designated area.
Sheltair’s New York locations at Westhampton Beach (FOK), Farmingdale (FRG), and Islip (recently acquired by Modern Aviation) also ranked as the top three FBOs in the Long Island area.
“Sheltair’s achievements are made possible through the efforts of the 500+ dedicated aviation professionals that make up the Sheltair family. We have passionately served the aviation industry for three generations, and we will continue to innovate, inspire, and improve keeping our guest’s best interest at hand,” Holland.
