SATS Ltd. (SATS), a global leader in gateway services and Asia’s pre-eminent provider of food solutions, will enhance its network of airport lounges in Singapore to improve the pre-flight and transit travel experience for its airline customers.
Starting with the upgraded SATS Premier Lounge at Changi Airport Terminal 3 which opens today, SATS will showcase Singapore dishes like laksa, chicken rice, prawn noodles and other beloved hawker fare in a setting that incorporates interior design elements from local artists and students. This includes a new flagship ‘Executive’ space which features private pods, dining service, family and dining seating and travel-friendly amenities. Over the next few years, SATS will extend the lounge refurbishment to the other Premier Lounges in Terminals 1 and 2.
SATS Group President and CEO Kerry Mok said that the upgrades to SATS Premier Lounges reflect SATS’ commitment to deliver a uniquely Singapore experience to travellers and our airline customers at Changi Airport.
“Millions of people visit the SATS lounges in Changi each year. With inputs from airlines and passengers, we were able to reimagine the lounge as a space for travellers where food, culture and hospitality experiences converge and enrich their experience of Singapore,” said Mok.
Authentic Flavors
SATS will feature award-winning chefs and their ethnic curations of traditional local favourites including SATS’ signature laksa, congee, biryani and international cuisine. Pastas prepared by robot chefs from the menu of Twyst restaurants and SATS Gourmet Solutions food products will also be available at the lounge.
SATS’ collaboration with six renowned local hawker, food and beverage brands - Beach Road Prawn Noodle House, Boon Tong Kee, Killiney, Downstairs by Song Fa, Rumah Makan Minang and Ponggol Nasi Lemak - will also be showcased at the SATS Premier Lounge at Terminal 3. This will deepen the Singapore experience for travellers while extending the reach of beloved Singapore brands.
Design Community
Through the SATS Foundation, SATS has set up its first design institution program to connect local tertiary institutions to give budding artists from LASALLE College of the Arts, Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, and Singapore Polytechnic Media, Arts & Design School a platform to showcase their digital artwork. Professional works of art from local artists Loy Yan Ling from Euphoramics and heritage crockery from the Intan, a private Pernanakan museum will also be featured at the lounge. This will showcase Singapore artworks to the world traveller, while connecting travellers to the sights and sounds of Singapore’s culture and identity.
Signature Tiles
To brand the lounge as uniquely SATS and Singapore, the SATS Global Innovation Hub team in Singapore designed wall and floor tiles to symbolise our roots in Singapore, taking inspiration from ornamental designs of Peranakan tiles. The SATS’ tile features the national flower, the Vanda Miss Joaquim orchid and the Crimson Sunbird, the unofficial national bird of Singapore. The flower symbolizes unity, progressiveness and cultural fusion while the Crimson Sunbird represents flight and the spirit of travel.
