The Piedmont Triad Airport Authority is thrilled to welcome Marshall Aerospace as the latest addition to the airport's impressive campus of aerospace companies. Marshall Aerospace is a renowned aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) provider that serves clients across the world.
Chairman Paul Mengert expressed his excitement at the addition of Marshall Aerospace, citing its reputation as a leader in the field of aviation maintenance and repair. He noted that Marshall Aerospace's presence on the airport campus would bring increased economic opportunities to the region, as well as provide a reliable resource for the aviation industry.
Marshall intends to invest $50 million in a new MRO facility and expects to create 240 new jobs for the region.
Marshall's decision to establish its presence at PTI is in line with the Authority's vision of establishing PTI as the foremost aerospace campus in the United States.
With its unique assets, the airport, the region, and North Carolina make it an ideal location for the aerospace industry, including well-established companies such as Marshall and aerospace innovators such as Boom Supersonic.
Over the last ten years, due to a laser-focused mission aimed at developing the airport as a center of aerospace employment, and to investment from the state, local partners, and the Authority, employment at the airport has more than doubled to over 8,600.
Further, the airport has increased its economic impact by 500% and currently contributes $9.6 billion to the state annually.
