Based near San Francisco, California, Mawhinney provides technical and logistics assistance to JSSI’s diverse fleet of clients around the world, specifically for helicopter airframe and engine maintenance requirements. His aviation career spans more than 30 years, beginning as a mechanic and crewman with the U.S. Coast Guard, then at FAA Part 145 Repair Stations, as Director of Maintenance for a Part 135 carrier, and at private helicopter operations. Mawhinney is factory trained on Bell, Leonardo, MD Helicopters, Rolls-Royce and SAFRAN engines, with extensive experience on Sikorsky and Airbus Helicopters and Pratt & Whitney, Lycoming and GE turbine engines. He holds FAA Airframe and Powerplant ratings, FAA Inspection Authorization and FCC Radio Repair licenses.
