Harlow Aerostructures LLC, a leading aerospace supplier based in Wichita, will sign a letter of intent to commence production on two new aerospace-related contracts with Turkish Aerospace. The ceremonial signing is scheduled for July 23, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. BST, 3:30 a.m. CST, inside the Greater Wichita Partnership chalet at the Farnborough International Airshow.
“These two long-term contracts are producing jobs in the Wichita region and generating crucial new revenue streams for our company,” said Harlow Aerostructures LLC Chief Operating Officer Jim Barnes.
Since 2008, Harlow Aerostructures has participated in the Farnborough International Airshow and the Paris Air Show following an invitation from the Greater Wichita Partnership. These premier industry events have facilitated meetings with aerospace leaders and clients, resulting in multi-million-dollar contracts with international companies in France, Turkey and Brazil, leading to an increase of 10 employees at Harlow.
“The support of the Greater Wichita Partnership, the State of Kansas and the City of Wichita in our participation at international airshows and fostering connections within the global aerospace industry has allowed us to capture work from other countries and bring it back to Wichita. Our diversified operations across multiple platforms contribute to a more stable workforce,” emphasized Barnes.
Joining Barnes at the signing ceremony will be the highest-ranking official of Turkish Aerospace along with Wichita Mayor Lily Wu.
“Strengthening our local economy is crucial for our city’s future. The new contracts between Harlow Aerostructures and Turkish Aerospace highlight Wichita’s highly skilled workforce and global competitiveness,” said Wichita Mayor Lily Wu. “I am proud to witness Harlow’s expansion at Farnborough and to showcase our region’s unparalleled talent and diverse economy.”
