Flightstar Corporation, an MRO based at Willard Airport (KCMI) since 1978, has recently changed their 1000th Rolls-Royce AE 3007 engine on an Embraer 145 series aircraft.
Flightstar added more capabilities to its overnight airline maintenance program in 2008 with its first Rolls-Royce AE 3007 engine replacement on an Embraer 145 series aircraft. These maintenance functions have continued over the last 14 years and have recently hit a milestone of 1000 engine changes performed. A majority of these events happen in a singular overnight shift, allowing aircraft to return for regularly scheduled airline service the following morning with no interruption to the scheduled flight.
"Considering our ability to change one engine in a single shift and the number of engines that have been changed speaks volumes to the experience, aptitude, and determination of our employees," stated Flightstar Airline Division Manager, Steve Warns. "I hope they all, past and present, are as proud of this milestone as I am.”
