(European Business Aviation Conference and Exhibition (EBACE) – May 14, 2014) Esterline CMC Electronics (CMC) is showcasing its innovative avionics in the company’s booth at EBACE 2014 (booth #3339.)
This is the first EBACE show where CMC will be displaying its new PilotView information management solution for integrated cockpit connectivity via an advanced Aircraft Information Server. The system offers versatile aircraft network connectivity, secure file storage and aircraft interface capabilities with virtually any Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) display. From a cost benefit standpoint for OEMs and airlines, the Aircraft Information Server reduces the complexity and implementation costs of similar systems where up to three distinct Line Replaceable Units are required to address networking, data control, security and EFB/tablet connectivity.
CMC’s PilotView Class 2 EFB systems continue to evolve, with product configurations ranging from 8.4 inch to 12.1 inch displays. The 8.4 inch CMA-1100 Mk 3, 10.4 inch CMA-1410 Mk 3 and new 12.1 inch EFBs feature the company’s latest display enhancements, including dual touch capability and a powerful Intel Core i7 processor that seamlessly enables a wide range of advanced software applications. These include charting, electronic documentation, en-route real-time weather moving maps, terrain awareness, camera surveillance, and aircraft data monitoring and reporting.
The 12.1 inch Class 2 PilotView Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) system has been selected as a factory option on the Bombardier CSeries aircraft. CMC will also supply its PilotView® Aircraft Information Server as part of this option.
Certified for Class 2 and Class 3 usage, the PilotView EFB is offered as a standard option by ATR, by Dassault on the Falcon 900, 2000 and 7X, by Embraer for the Legacy 600/650 and E-170/190 programs, by Bombardier for the CRJ700*, CRJ900* and CRJ1000* regional jets, and by Boeing for the Next-Generation B-737s and BBJs. In addition, over 30 STCs are available for the PilotView EFB on aircraft ranging from the Gulfstream GlV/GV, Bombardier Aerospace’s Challenger* 600* series* aircraft program, the Global* Express* and the Global Express XRS*, to the Boeing 737.
