Epic Flight Academy announces its 7th Annual Aviation Scholarship event. Epic is awarding a total of $65,000 to four U.S. high school juniors and seniors. Applications are due Oct. 1, with presentations at the flight school awards event on Saturday, Nov. 5.
Epic plans to award two flight training scholarships of $20,000 and $5,000. Two students will also receive aircraft mechanic training scholarships in the amount of $20,000 each. Epic has awarded more than $210,000 to 15 high school students in this annual event, which launched in 2016.
“Each year, we receive many impressive applications from around the country,” said Dr. Cindy Lovell, director of education. “In 2021, we made the decision to increase the amount and number of students, and we are staying with that this year. Last year, our winners came from Alabama, Wisconsin and Florida.”
Epic founder and CEO Danny Perna added, “The demand for airline pilots and aircraft mechanics has never been higher. We are proud to support four students this year and look forward to welcoming them to campus. We began with a single pilot scholarship back in 2016 and now provide two scholarships for pilot training and two for aircraft mechanic training.”
The scholarship awards event features booths with Epic’s airline and aviation partners in addition to food and fun. Epic’s annual fishing tournament and corporate sponsors also provide support for the annual scholarship program.
