Aircraft Refuelling Equipment – for highest safety on the airfield
Refuelling equipment for the transfer of aviation fuels must provide a high level of safety over the whole transport chain. Operators require that their equipment works reliably and will not contaminate the fuel according the standard EI 1530, section 10.3.3.2.

Aircraft Refuelling Hoses
‘Yellow Band‘ aircraft refuelling hoses comply with all relevant standards, including the latest ISO 1825 / API 1529 and meet worldwide military and civil usage. They are lightweight, highly flexible, also at low temperatures, very safe to operate and show a superior lifetime.Types HD-C, VHD-C, PHD-F or TW-E are suitable for all aviation gasolines, jet fuels and de-icing fluids.
ELAFLEX also offers aviation hoses with NEON marking. The reflecting stripes increase safety, especially in low light situations.
For long hose assemblies we have developed hose beads ‘BD‘ acc. to the EI standard 1522 (in preparation) which notably improve the handling as they reduce friction against the tarmac. They additionally protect against hose abrasion. Type ‘BD’ can be easily assembled or disassembled and are suitable for reeling.
Hose Couplings
Safeguarding media purity, ELAFLEX hose couplings with BSP or NPT thread are available in stainless steel or tin plated brass as recommended by JIG Guidelines. They avoid contact of aviation fuel with non-ferrous metals.
Threaded or flanged – with Spannfix or Spannloc safety clamps – most coupling types are available ex stock.
For the loading of aviation refuellers (airfield refueller), MannTek ‘DAC‘ Dry Aviation Couplings to ISO 45 have proven themselves in practice for a quick and clean connection without spill. They are used for the bottom loading of aviation fuel to refuellers. DAC is compatible with all common underwing couplings.
Overwing Nozzles
Being a market leader in petrol station nozzles, our product range includes overwing nozzles for aircraft and helicopter refuelling – with AVGAS or JET-A1 spouts and suited accessories.
Our next generation overwing nozzle ZVF 50 has well received by aircraft refuelling perators worldwide. It meets the JIG guidelines, is lightweight, has good handling properties, and boasts an extremely low hold-open force and sensitive flow control. ZVF 50 is available with a variety of equipment options.
For the installation on board of airfield refuellers, a corresponding nozzle boot NB-ZVF 50 can be delivered.
The following nozzle types are commonly used:
- Manual nozzles: ZVF 50 and ZVF 25
- Automatic nozzles: ZVA 25 AF (free of non-ferrous metals) and ZVA 32
Rubber Expansion Joints
For installation within the pipe systems of aviation refuellers we recommend our renowned ERV-G rubber expansion joints which reliably dampen vibrations occuring during operation. For regions with low temperatures, a special LT version is also available.
Hose Reels and Hose Trolleys
In addition to the hose and coupling product guide, we supply Hose Reels - Made by ELAFLEX. They are suitable
e.g. for mobile refuelling equipment (containerised, tanks or cabinets) or as fix installation next to dispensers on small airports. The hose reel configuration is customised (sizes, material, colour, mounting position, rewind mechanism etc.).
Grounding reels are alternatively available as earthing and bonding function on airfields. Spring operated rewind mechanism.
For a safe and easy moving of DN 100 refuelling hoses on dispensers Elaflex now also provides Hose trolleys from own production – suitable for every vehicle.
